Pride in the Paddock is a regional pride celebration designed to create a safe, visible and affirming event for LGBTQIA+ people in rural NSW. The event is planned as part of a four day celebration including regional ACON workshops, the Wiradjuri Drag Pageant. Planning commenced in mid 2025, with community consultation, sponsorship development and marketing currently underway. ACON is a sponsor.
Pride Foundation Australia awarded a small grant towards putting on the inaugral event. The event will bring together community members for live music, speakers, workshops, wellbeing activities and inclusive social connection opportunities. It aims to reduce social isolation, improve visibility and create a sense of belonging for LGBTQIA+ people living in rural communities where these opportunities are rare.
