HOT SAND

HOT SAND is a LGBTQIASB+ community group based on Kombumerri Country, Gold Coast. The group meet once a month and are provided with a group activity (free for participants), with a facilitator (paid in line with NAVA rates) as well as tea/ coffee and snacks. HOT SAND has no set members or attendance but is an open invitation to LGBQTAISB+ members to come along, connect and create.

The group received a PFA small grant to fund 2 months worth of programming for the HOT SAND community group in 2026. The planned activities for these months include a button badge making workshop and a felt making activity. The aim of these workshops is to provide a space for the local LGBQTQIASB+ community to help foster connections and creativity.
