NT Writers Centre – Queer Mythologies

The NT Writers Centre offers a program of writing workshops, and opportunities across the Northern Territory including the annual NT Writers’ Festival. As a festival that reflects our times and platforms bold ideas, each year they program at least one event with a queer focus. This is a brilliant way to reflect, honour and uplift the queer and trans folk in their communities and audience.

NT Writers Centre have received small grant funding towards holding Queer Mythologies, an in-conversation event with author Zoe Terakes as part of the 2026 NT Writers Festival. In their book, Eros: Queer Myths for Lovers, Zoe Terakes rewrites myths to feature trans, non-binary and queer characters. They speak to CJ Fraser-Bell about the ancient history of transness, nature’s power of invention, and transformation.
