LINE Wangaratta Inc. – Threads of Pride: A Fanstasy Costume Workshop

LINE Wangaratta Inc. is a volunteer-led Not-for-Profit charity that coordinates social inclusion programs and events, aims at connection and support, raises awareness in the community, supports services and businesses to be LGBTQIA+ inclusive and has a vision of change in the north east region.

LINE Wangaratta received a small grant to host a fantasy costume making session/s for LGBTQIA+ people, who will gain opportunities and experiences in making cosplay outfits and tailoring personal clothing items. This stemmed from consultation with young people at recent youth events, and those engaged with LINE Wangaratta who lamented not having the skills needed to mend or make costumes for said events, DnD sessions and other fantasy gaming. The workshop aims to engage LGBTQIA+ people in the North East region to create social connections, whilst teaching the life skills of clothing alteration and mending, under the guise of costuming.
