Aqualicious: Masters Swimming Club

In August 2024, Aqualicious started a coached swim squad every Sunday morning at the UniSC Aquatic Centre on the Sushine Coast. In September, this was expanded to also provide a session on Wednesday evenings. These squad sessions provide a valuable opportunity to LGBTIQ+ people living on the Sunshine Coast to meet and make connections. These connections can help reduce the feeling of isolation that many members of our community feel as a result of living in a regional area.

While numbers have been steadily increasing over the past couple of months, these squad sessions still operates at a loss and have been reliant on the generosity of grant funds to supplement the fees charged to the swimmers to maintain viability of the sessions.
