Ten Forty Matrix Inc is a vigorous loose-limbed organisation of lesbians over forty who relish discussion and debate about the issues we face in work, life, at home, in the arts and politics. The site originally catered for women in the Sydney area, but over the years, has grown beyond its original borders to embrace women from all over Australia and internationally.
During COVID, they identified the need to bring older lesbians together in a safe, supportive setting, for a quality social event. Ten Forty Matrix organised two Big Indoor Picnics at Leichhardt Town Hall, 2020 and 2021 each time, providing a catered lunch, and entertainment by local women. The 65 participants gave fantastic feedback.
Ten Forty Matrix Inc. planned another Big Indoor Picnic on Saturday 16 March, during the Seniors Festival and close to International Women’s Day. They booked Leichhardt Town Hall, engaged a local caterer, and a singing group to perform.
The PFA 2024 Small Grant awarded to Ten Forty Matrix assisted in covering the costs of 80 attendees to The Big Indoor Picnic.
