Stacey Stokes & Flat Out Inc’s Beyond Bricks & Bars: T4T(abletop) – Board Game Social Group

This PFA Small Grant was awarded to Stacey Stokes and Flat Out Inc’s Beyond Bricks & Bars to organise and run 3 board game sessions in 2024 for formerly incarcerated trans and gender diverse people and our allies.

This group faces serious social exclusion due to the stigma of criminalisation and transphobia. Stacey is connected to many formerly incarcerated people due to her experience as a peer listener in prison. Coming together for low-key connection and fun helps all of us stay socially connected, reduces our risk of re-criminalisation, and reduces our risk of suicide.

Through this event series, Stacey hopes to give back to her community, strengthen her event planning and group facilitation skills and share health resources and information to trans folks who are struggling and disconnected from mental health and peer support services.
