Selina Moir-Wilson & Linus Tolliday: Quarters

Selina is a trans writer, editor and the producer of Quarters. As the Editor-in-Chief of Voiceworks, a youth literary journal, Selina is deeply committed to uplifting LGBTQIA+ voices. Linus, an emerging non-binary director who graduated from VCA (Film & TV) in 2023, is the writer/director of Quarters.

Quarters is a short narrative dramedy that follows Stevie, a mid-twenties non-binary student on a journey to return a misdelivered letter. In their search for the letter’s intended recipient, Stevie encounters a diverse and captivating ensemble of queer characters. Darkly humorous and contemplative, Quarters is told through a queer, trans and autistic lens based on Linus and Selina’s lived experiences.

A Small Grant has been awarded to Selina and Linus to fund the production of Quarters.

Recognising the institutional barriers our communities face in the film industry, they will prioritise LGBTQIA+ cast and crew. As active members of Naarm/Melbourne’s queer communities, they have both worked with the Australian Queer Archives—Linus as a research volunteer and Selina as a producer for the 2023 Emerging Writers’ Festival. This funding for Quarters will enable Selina and Linus to deepen their relationships with LGBTQIA+ filmmakers and audiences alike.
