Inner City Legal Centre: Trans Day of Resistance Day Retreat

The Inner City Legal Centre (ICLC) is a non profit community based legal centre located in Kings Cross, NSW. The centre has been providing free legal services to residents in the inner city, surrounding areas, and LGBTIQ Communities since 1980.

Working in partnership with the Trans Justice Project and and ACON’s Trans Vitality Project, the ICLC received a PFA Small Grant to present a one day “retreat” for a selected group of trans people and allies. The retreat focuses on strategies for resisting the rise of anti-trans vilification in the media and in public life in addition to workshops on self care and community based mutual aid.

The retreat will take place over one full day in November to align with Trans Day of Resistance and Remembrance. ICLC will host this event to include members of the trans and trans-ally community who were unable to attend the Trans Justice Strategy retreat that was held in April in Victoria.
