Busselton Pride Alliance Inc.: Pride Wellbeing Week 2024

Based in Busselton, Western Australia, Busselton Pride Alliance Inc. are a queer led not-for-profit community group building a movement for social justice and support for LGBTQIA+ people in the south west community.

Their 2024 Small Grant will go towards the funding of Pride Wellbeing Week 2024: a ten day calendar of events in Busselton, WA, which aims to provide a unique experience from other regional pride events.

November is Pride Month in WA and Pride Wellbeing Week will run from 1st to 10th November; ahead of the nearest regional pride events Bunbury PRIDEfest on 17 November (60km away), and Perth Pridefest, from 15th to 24th November (250km away). Prior to 2020, Busselton had a pride weekend based on a street parade, Fair Day and after party.

From 2023 they decided to reimagine this experience and offer a program focused more directly on mental health, resilience, and education, and they hope to grow this event to include a series of professional development opportunities for health professionals.
