Fundraising Support Hub

Thank you for your consideration in fundraising on behalf of Pride Foundation Australia. Currently, less than 1% of philanthropic funding across Australia goes towards addressing the issues and discrimination faced by LGBTQIA+ Australians.

By fundraising for us, you’re helping to increase the financial resources available within the charitable sector to actively make an impact on LGBTQIA+ Australians, both at grassroots and systemic levels.

Below you’ll find a range of resources and recommendations to support your fundraising efforts and increase your impact.

I want to fundraise, how can I get involved?

Making a regular or one-off donation is the simplest way that you can become a part of our work. Pride Foundation pools funds from many donors to support projects that make a real difference to people’s lives. All donations, small and big, are tax-deductable and enable us to support our community.

I’m under 18, can I fundraise for PFA?

Yes, absolutely! We welcome your fundraising efforts. Please make sure that your parent or guardian reviews and accepts our fundraiser terms and conditions and assumes responsibility for ensuring the safety and legality of your fundraising activities.

How should I speak about my fundraising efforts for PFA?

Because you’re fundraising on behalf of Pride Foundation Australia, you are doing so as a supporter of PFA. When you speak about your fundraising, please say you are fundraising “in support of” Pride Foundation Australia.

How do I fundraise for PFA online?

The easiest way to raise money online is by setting up a CrowdRaiser through our GiveNow fundraising profile. You’ll have your own space to set goals and personalise your fundraiser, while not having to worry about the admin of collecting, tallying and donating your funds—GiveNow does all of that for you!

For more information on how to build out your CrowdRaiser, read our blog article How to Use CrowdRaiser for your Workplace Fundraiser.

Can I use the PFA logo on my fundraising graphics?

Yes, you can use the ‘in support of’ logo in any of your fundraiser graphics and materials, provided in our downloadable pack of printable fundraising material.

Do you have any support materials I can use for my fundraiser?

Yes! We have a pack of printable fundraising materials that you can download and use for your fundraiser. Please make sure to read our fundraising terms and conditions before fundraising.

Can you mail me physical fundraising material?

We don’t offer physical fundraising material, but have developed our downloadable fundraising material pack as an alternative. This helps us reduce costs and is kinder to the environment.

How can I use QR codes to fundraise?

GiveNow creates a unique QR code that is linked to CrowdRaiser, so you can easily direct attendees of your event to donate! Read more about finding your CrowdRaiser QR code here.

We have also supplied QR codes that go directly to our main GiveNow donation page within our fundraiser materials pack, for those who don’t want to create a CrowdRaiser.

Can PFA help me with my fundraiser?

We are a small team of mainly volunteer board members, so unfortunately we cannot help you with organising or promoting your fundraiser. We have made this fundraising hub to provide as much support as possible for your event.

What is the best way to collect money and donations?

Whether you’re participating in a sponsored event like a walk, run or cycle, or you’re holding a fundraising event within your workplace or among friends, the best way to collect donations is to set up a CrowdRaiser through our GiveNow general fundraiser. It’s easy to set up, and GiveNow will send all the funds directly to us when it’s over. You can then link your family and friends to your CrowdRaiser to get them to donate.

How do I send you my donation once my fundraising event is done?

If you’ve set up a CrowdRaiser through GiveNow, then you don’t need to do anything!
If you have collected money separately, the best way to send it to us is via our donate page

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes! Donations over $2 are tax deductible. If you’re donating through our GiveNow page, they will send you a tax receipt.
