Meet PFA’s Latest Major Grant Recipient: Forcibly Displaced People Network

FDPN

We’re proud to announce that Forcibly Displaced People Network (FDPN) has been awarded our PFA Grant of $20,000 to produce training resources regarding inclusive practice for Australian settlement services seeing LGBTIQA+ refugees and people seeking asylum.

Intersectionality will be embedded throughout the module focusing not only on the refugee experiences and LGBTIQ+ identity but also being inclusive of age, disability and gender identity (to match the commitments of the Global Compact on Refugees, a key document of response to the needs of forcibly displaced people calling for mainstreaming age, gender, diversity and disability integrated response).

The module will work to address attitudes, knowledge and skills on the topic as well as building an organisational and staff capacity to respond to the needs of LGBTIQ+ people who’ve been forcibly displaced.
