Thank you for your support during Pride Month

Over the month of June, we held our annual End of Financial Year/Pride Month fundraiser. Last year, we raised just over $43,500 in support of LGBTQIA+ refugee and asylum seekers, completely smashing our initial target of $30,000.

So this year, we decided to set the bar even higher. We asked for your help to raise $50,000—again, in support of LGBTQIA+ asylum seekers and refugees, alongside our new Queer Arts funding and our regular funding of LGBTQIA+ grassroots communities, businesses and organisations through our Small Grants program.

We’re incredibly grateful to have received $42,150 in donations towards our fundraiser.

It’s been a truly difficult time for many Australians over the last few years, and we set quite a lofty goal, so we are pleased to have come as close as we did to hitting our target.

Your donations this year will support:

  • the further funding of peer-led LGBTQIA+ refugee and asylum seeker support groups.
  • our second Major Grant focusing on supporting LGBTQIA+ Arts.
  • more funding reaching local, regional and rural LGBTQIA+ grassroots communities, businesses and organisations across Australia.

As an organisation that is almost entirely run voluntarily, that relies on the donations of the community and philanthropic partnerships in order to create the grant funding that we provide, we are greatly thankful for the turnout of support once again this year.
