Holy Trinity Cricket Club: Pride Cup

Founded in 1924 Holy Trinity holds a long and proud history in the community and having serviced the local families in many facets through out our 98 year history. Located in the heart of the Victorian northern suburbs, Hayes Park (Flinders Street, Thornbury) continues to be a haven for fostering community spirit.

Holy Trinity Cricket Club has a strong relationship with the LGBTQIA+ community with representatives across their playing & coaching group as well as their committee. Further, they were the first community cricket club in Victoria to host a Pride Cup. Holy Trinity Cricket Club started their inaugural Pride Cup in 2019, and the momentum from this continues to grow each year. What started as a single social game has now evolved into a 3-match day held at Hayes Park with a Pride Cup Trophy, Pride uniforms, ground painting, free BBQ for participants and supporters, and a number of other activities to support the LGBTQIA+ community which encourages participation at their club.

They have received a Small Grant to continue their tradition of hosting a cricket Pride Cup for this upcoming season, partnering with other cricket clubs who support LGBTQIA+ initiatives.

The running of the Pride cup each year is a critical & practical way for their club to demonstrate our investment and commitment to diversity and inclusivity, which is so important to our membership base and the Darebin community.
