headspace Launceston – Youth Pride Ball

headspace Launceston is operated by Cornerstone Youth Services and offers free support for young people aged 12 to 25, their families and friends.

They have received a PFA Small Grant towards throwing a youth Pride Ball. Through success of previous similar events, discussion with the headspace Launceston Youth Reference Group and previous attendants, a need for social connection and inclusivity has been identified for young people in the LGBTIQA+ community to have a space to express their identity. Research into our Centre’s data also identified that LGBTIQA+ young people’s mental health remain a priority group for our centre, and our local community.

The objective of the Pride Ball is to promote social inclusion and connection for young people who identify as LGBTIQA+ and their allies by creating a safe space to have fun, celebrate their community and create new connections.

The Pride Ball was held on the 21st June, 2025 for International Pride Month.
