Blank Space Productions – The Irreducible

Blank Space Productions works on a founding principle of transformation. The act & experience of transformation lies at the heart of why they take on certain projects; it defines both the evolution of their practice, the ways they seek to transform & inspire both their audiences & society.

Blank Space Productions received a small grant towards the development of their production The Irreducible. The Irreducible is a cross-form movement based, post-drag theatre work. The show offers a series of vibrant moving images that cascade continuously through each other to unsettle notions of gender.

As gender diverse artists, the members of Blank Space Productions are driven to bring community together to explore multiple ways of seeing and modes of perception. The idea of ‘irreducibility’ explores the ‘thingness’ of the body as a state of existence that can’t be fully defined or reduced. The body becomes, is, and always has been the point at which identity is fluidly experienced rather than described.
