Pride Foundation Australia Disability Forum February 2019

A very successful forum on LGBTIQ disability was held in Melbourne as part of the Midsumma Festival with over 60 people filling Hares and Hyenas to capacity. Thanks to Ian Gould for leading the disability work for Pride Foundation and coordinating the forum.

Next steps will be the production of a short video with key points from the night, and a JOY 94.9 podcast. Pride Foundation has also committed to developing LGBTIQ disability inclusion and accessibility principles, which could be used by LGBTQIA+ organisations and individuals to ensure events and processes are as inclusive as possible.

Pride Foundation Australia commits through the resources we have available to us, to work with, for, and alongside Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and South Sea Islander LGBTIQ+ Sistergirl and Brotherboy peoples and communities to embed a self-determined future.

We further commit the contribution of a significant proportion of grant funding received to Aboriginal Torres Strait  South Sea Islander LGBTIQ+ Sistergirl and Brotherboy led initiatives to improve social outcomes.

Australia was, and always will be Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land.
