A successful inaugural fundraiser for PFA in Hobart

As a national organisation, we’re working to build our capacity and our reach beyond queer cultural hubs like Melbourne and Sydney, to corners of Australia where LGBTQIA+ communities are under-supported and under-resourced.

On March 23rd, we held our first fundraiser event in Tasmania in the offices of Deloitte Hobart, overlooking the the Derwent. Our cocktail fundraiser event, raising funding for LGBTQIA+ refugees and people seeking asylum, and discussing our work so far, as well as our sub-fund targeted in assisting refugees with safe passage to seek asylum in Australia.

The event was a success. We entertained at least 40 attendees and we saw some real interest in our work as well as a large donation.

We’d like to thank Deloitte Hobart for acting as our host for the evening, Endeavour Group for providing drinks and TasCAHRD and Andrew Wilkie MP for sponsoring the catering for this event. This event wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of these organisations and we couldn’t be more grateful.
