LGBTI Disability area update

Two projects have been approved:

  1. Gay and Lesbian Health Victoria has been commissioned to commence the LGBTIQ disability evidence building project. This work will include a literature review and secondary analysis of Private Lives 2 and the Rainbow Women’s help seeking Project.
  2. Arts Access Victoria has agreed to support the Development of a business plan for a web based social media platform for LGBTI people living with disability.

GALFA is now facilitating the establishment of a LGBTIQ disability Alliance to further advance this important work. The Broadtree Foundation has agreed to provide a further $15,000 over three years, and other funding is being sought.

We further commit the contribution of a significant proportion of grant funding received to Aboriginal Torres Strait  South Sea Islander LGBTIQ+ Sistergirl and Brotherboy led initiatives to improve social outcomes.

Australia was, and always will be Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land.
